First Animated Project- Consensus

This was the very first assignment I was giving during my year long 3-D Maya software class at Sacramento State. I had only been learning Maya and 3D software for a few weeks before beginning this project. I wanted to simulate what it might feel like to be inside an AI hive mind, using cubes and blocks to represent sets of data moving and interacting within this world.

The viewer is dropped into the space, as if their mind has just been freshly uploaded. The lighting is dark and eerie, creating a mood of uncertainty. The AI senses an intruder and dispatches sharp-edged, blocky guardians to investigate.

Once the guardians determine the intruder is no longer a threat, the world begins to brighten. New neural pathways emerge, and streams of data like flocks of birds fly through the air. In the background, if you look closely, the guardians are now frozen in place, no longer needed.

While there was intention behind the project, I also wanted it to feel ambiguous open for people to draw their own conclusions from the experience.
